Austin Hemp House

Plural Office is developing Austin's first urban hemp house in the city's Chestnut neighborhood. Though hemp has a long legacy of use in construction overseas, it's just now gaining popularity in the United States. The virtues of hemp are many: it’s a rapidly renewable crop, and as practically the only ingredient in hempcrete, it significantly reduces the number of components in a wall system. The end result is a near-monolithic, completely non-toxic building material.
